Middle School Art Magnet Prep for 5th Grade

Ms. D will walk families through what belongs in a strong portfolio and how students can prepare for the audition. Bring your questions! She’s there to help ease nerves and make the process feel a lot less mysterious.

 

Portfolio Club

Wednesday, December 9 and/or Wednesday, December 16

3:30–4:30 PM

$25 suggested donation per session, payable through Membership Toolkit when you register

Both sessions cover the same material, so students can join one day or both for extra practice. Every student will receive their own portfolio folder, and Ms. D will talk them through which types of artwork to include, with all the materials they need provided. They’ll also review still life drawing and practice drawing a cow skull with Ms. D’s guidance. (Fun fact: drawing a cow skull is the actual audition task for the middle school magnet! )

 

Registration opens Monday, October 26 at 8:00 PM. Each session is limited to 15 students, so set a reminder! To sign up and pay, log in to Membership Toolkit and go to My Stuff (on the far right) → My Forms or use the link below. The form is visible only to 5th grade families.
